Meet Tara Goecks, MD, FACS, a distinguished, board-certified oculofacial plastic surgeon whose expertise bridges the gap between aesthetic aspirations and medical innovation. With a robust foundation in cosmetic and functional oculofacial plastic surgery, Dr. Goecks brings a unique perspective to each patient’s care, balancing advanced surgical techniques with a patient-centered approach.

The Journey

Dr. Goecks’ academic and professional paths are a testament to her commitment to continued excellence in her field. After completing her BA at the University of Pennsylvania, she earned her MD from the University of Vermont College of Medicine. Her surgical internship and ophthalmology residency at the Medical University of South Carolina set the foundation for her highly sought-after oculofacial plastic surgery fellowship at Vanderbilt University and the University of Tennessee, where she gained expertise in trauma, reconstructive, and cosmetic plastic surgery.

In 2019, Dr. Goecks was inducted into the prestigious American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), an accolade reserved for surgeons who have demonstrated exceptional expertise and contributions to the field. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and board-certified by the American Academy of Ophthalmology, highlighting her professional stature and dedication to her specialty.

Dr. Goecks has been serving the population of the western slope of Colorado since 2020. While enjoying and growing her solo practice, she decided to move back to her home state of Oregon to be closer to family. In 2024, she set her sights on Bend, Oregon, where she opened a state-of-the-art facility to provide top tier patient care. She focuses on cosmetic and reconstructive oculofacial plastic surgery as well as minimally invasive cosmetic procedures.

Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Goecks is a person of diverse interests and passions. A born and raised Oregonian, she is a vibrant part of Bend, Oregon’s community and enjoys sharing her passion for the outdoors through hiking, skiing, and trail running amidst the natural beauty of Central Oregon, along with her rescue pup, Finn. Dr. Goecks also engages in spiritual healing work, enjoys reading, and has a keen interest in home renovation and design.
